February 22, 2010 - Terra Design is working with New England College to set up a new community garden behind the Rowe Barn in Henniker. Last summer an overgrown field was cleared. The soil was tested, composted goat manure was added, and cover crops were planted. This season we will open the plots to the public. The first public organizational meeting is 7:00pm February 24, 2010, at the Henniker Grange Building.
February 11, 2010 - Terra Design helped collect tents for the people of Haiti left homeless by the earthquake. We collected 14 tents and delivered them to the Haiti Rescue Mission sponsored by Mark Richey Woodworking in Newburyport, MA. Thanks to all who donated.
January 20, 2010 - After a week of class and a rigorous exam, the owner, Denise Rico, became a NOFA Accredited Organic Land Care Professional. We are looking forward to adding new services for our clients. Conversion of lawn areas to organic management systems will be an important component of this program.
January through June 2009 - Terra Design worked with John Stark Regional High School art teacher, Bess Robblee, to transform an eyesore in the lot behind the art room into a beautiful Zen inspired garden. Many local businesses, several of them trusted Terra Design suppliers, contributed to the project. The garden was designed by Denise Rico and installed by volunteers.
